Depending on how many survey companies you apply to and how many surveys you are given, you could easily spend 5 – 10 hours a week doing online surveys.

Also, what is nice about paid surveys is that you don’t always have to take a survey. When I was doing surveys, I didn’t want to waste my time with the ones where I was only being entered into a contest, so I just didn’t do them. This, as far as I could tell, didn’t hurt me because I still kept on getting surveys from those same companies.

In all honesty, they were one of the first opportunities that I tired. This week, I took the time to examine the online websites of different virtual assistants. I found that there are two main ways that clients are charged. The first way is per project. With a per project fee, you will want to determine, ahead of time, how much you would charge for the project. For example, if you are developing an advertisement for your client, you may want to charge $100 or so. As for typing projects, I found that a large number of virtual assistants charge per word.

The other option, when it comes to charging your clients is to charge an hourly fee. I also found that a fairly large number of virtual assistants charge for a minimum number of hours; those hours were typically around two or three hours. Adding a minimum time will not only help you make money, but it will also help to make sure that you have work. Since they will be charged for the time, you will find that most of your clients will want you to have projects to work on.

As for a weekly income, you will find that it varies. This variation often depends on how many clients you have, as well as how often you work with those clients. It is also important to note that you may want to think about offering a few after-hours services, such as an answering service. However, if you do so, it may be a good idea to charge a little bit more money for your time, sort of like overtime.

Of course, previous work experience is good, but you need to remember one thing; you are starting your own business. However, as previously mentioned, previous work experience is ideal. The good thing about being a virtual assistant is that there are a number of tasks that you will likely end up completing. No matter what type of job you held before, there is a good chance that you have some experience completing a number of the tasks that you will offer.

While there are some companies who will take a chance on a new virtual assistant, you will find that most prefer to work with someone who not only knows what they are doing, but some who has previous work experience.

Of course, the decision as to whether or not you want to become a freelance web content writer is up to you, but there are a number of reasons why you should give it a try.

(1) It is relatively easy to give it a shot. For example, below I listed a website (Associated Content) where you can submit your articles for pay. Doing so, whether it be with Associated Content or another website, gives you the ability to test the waters, without having to deal with clients or deadlines. If you like what you see, you can continue on and move onto other projects.

(2) Your hours can vary. I know freelance writers who work first thing in the morning, others who work during the day, and those, like me, who work at night. There are also freelance writers who tend to work only on the weekends. By keeping your schedule in mind, when accepting projects, you can easily create your own work hours.

(3) The equipment needed is minimal. As previously mentioned, it is advised that you have internet access and an email address. Your email address will likely be used to communicate with your clients. In most cases, you will find that email replaces phone contact. Microsoft Works, Microsoft Word, or Notepad are all ideal for creating your articles. You will find that Notepad and Microsoft Works come standard on most computers.

(4) It is free to try. With freelance writing, you will be paid for your work, not the other way around. Of course, most online bidding sites charge a fee, but that fee should come out of your work automatically and at the end. Therefore; as long as you find legitimate opportunities, there are NO upfront costs associated with freelance web content writing; therefore, you really have nothing to loose by giving it a shot.

The majority of freelance writers that I know work some where between full-time and part-time. The thing about freelance writing is that it all depends on the work that you are doing. For instance, if you are writing your own articles and submitting them for pay, you can work as little or as much as you want. If you do work for other clients, you will likely have a deadline that you need to meet. Personally, there are some weeks where I work part-time and then others when I am working full-time.

It is also important to note that freelance writing, almost always, gives you the freedom to work whenever you want. For example, I am a freelance web content writer, but I am also a stay at home mom. Since I spend my days with my daughter, I do my work after she goes to bed for the night. Depending on the number of projects that I have lined up for the week, it can make for some pretty long nights, but I enjoy having the option of doing what I want. Of course, I could always work earlier in the morning, but I am a night owl!

In all essence, the amount of time that you can spend working as a freelance web content writer is just about as much time as you want to devote to doing so.

If you would like to become a professional freelance web content writer, the amount of money that you can make may be the deciding factor. How it Works: With AC, you have the opportunity to write your own articles and then submit them for pay. AC is great for beginners. When submitting your articles, you will want to keep an eye on the articles that have already been submitted. AC tends not to purchase articles that are similar to ones already submitted. To determine what your chances of having your article accepted are, you can easily do an article search.

Scriptlance – Online Bidding Site
Website: www.scriptlance.com
How it Works: Scriptlance is an online bidding site, which is where you compete against others for the project of your choice. When using Scriptlance, you will find a search box at the top of the page. This box is where you can search for work, by keying in “articles,” or something similar. Once you are registered, you should be able to view projects and place your bid on a project, if you would like to.

Rent a Coder (RAC) – Online Bidding Site
Website: www.rentacoder.com
How it Works: RAC is an online bidding site that has a wide variety of different projects, including writing projects. After you have registered, you can use the search or browse features to find writing projects. As with Scriptlance, it may be a good idea to search with the word “articles.” Once you found a project that you would like to apply to, you will need to post your bid for the project.

* When using the above mentioned bidding sites, you may want to create a resume. RAC allows you to create and store your resume on their website. It is also advised that you create a personal message to go along with your bids. This personal message should outline your qualifications, as well as give an explication of your bid.

* RAC requires their clients to escrow the money into an account for you, if your project bid is accepted. As nice as Scriptlance is, they do not have the same feature. Therefore, when accepting a project, it is best to keep an eye on who you will be working with, by examining their feedback. You can ask them to escrow the money for you, but not all clients wish to do so. If not, you are advised to use your best judgment.

When searching for any work at home job or business opportunity, one of the most common questions asked concerns experience. When it comes to freelance writing for the web, you may be wondering if any experience is needed and what type is the best. In all honesty, it depends.

Personally, the only reason why I started writing for pay was because I found information about doing so online. I wrote for my high school newspaper for a couple of years, which was almost six years ago. Aside from that, I had no writing experience, at all. Of course, I didn’t let that stop me and I worked to gain that experience. Yesterday, I mentioned Associated Content. That was where I decided to test the waters and I have since ventured out to other opportunities, but, essentially, I used Associated Content to get me the experience that I needed, as well as a little boost for my confidence.

Although writing experience isn’t necessarily required, you will find that it may help your chances of landing a job, especially with a client (as opposed to a place like Associated Content). Of course, there are always some clients who would be willing to work with new writers, but not all are.

When applying for a writing project or approaching a prospective client, which will be focused on later, it is important to remember that previous writing experience is not the only thing that could help you. For example, if you are interested in doing a project on home schooling, a background in education or home schooling experience may give you an advantage, when it comes to landing that project.

Essentially, experience is great to have, but it most cases, you will not find that it is required.

If you are looking for a legitimate work at home opportunity, you may want to think about becoming a freelance writer. Freelance writing comes in a number of different forms. As previously mentioned, this week I am going to focus on freelance writing over the internet.

Currently, I am a freelance writer, who specializes in web content. When I tell my friends or my family what I do, there are many who are left wondering exactly how I go about getting my jobs and what I write about. The majority of my clients are website owners.

If you are familiar with the internet and search engines, the content on a website is what helps to increase its ranking in the search engines. A large number of website owners are able to create their own websites or sell their products online, but many do not have the time or the experience needed to create quality content (articles) for their websites. That is where a freelance writer comes in.

The majority of the time, once you get a client, you will be told exactly what to topics to write about. These topics will all depend on the website owner or the type of website in question. Just a few of the articles that I have written were about air purifiers, photo blankets, Thanksgiving parties, bathroom remodeling, and Mexico vacations. As you can see, there are a number of different topics that you can write about.

In addition to writing for website owners, there are a number of online websites that allow you to submit your articles for pay. What is nice about these websites is that you can, virtually, write about whatever you want. If you are looking to get started in writing web content, these types of opportunities may be a great way to get your foot in the door. Associated Content is one of these websites.
